Soon after, Jarryd's interests were drawn towards composition, traveling to Seattle to earn his Masters in Film Scoring at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program (2017), studying under two-time Emmy winner Dr. Hummie Mann.

Jarryd's composition work has received critical acclaim from around the world. His film scores have gone on to win best original score awards at various festivals. Most notably, his work on ROLLING ACROSS AMERICA (DocuSeries) and ENCHANTED, LLC received nominations for the 2018 Jerry Goldsmith Soundtrack Award and the 2019 International Sound and Film Music Award, respectively.

Jarryd's concert works for percussion, as well as orchestra, have also received distinguished honors. In 2018, he received the Luminosity Orchestra's Young Composers award for his composition The Rain Maker: Suite for Orchestra. His percussion compositions are performed regularly around the world, where “Hero's Journey,” being the most famous (written for solo Timpani and electronic playback), is a recurring repertoire option for the Italy Percussive Arts Society Timpani competition.

His collaborations don’t stop at writing music, either.  As an orchestrator, Jarryd has worked with some of Hollywood’s top composers, including Tyler Bates, Timothy Williams, Robert Duncan, Hummie Mann, Brian S. Carr, and B.C. Smith.  Some of his credits include Deadpool 2, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, S.W.A.T., Southern Gospel, and The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Jarryd’s wide-spanning career across both composition and orchestration makes him one of Hollywood’s brightest up-and-coming composers, as well as orchestrators, since he broke onto the scene in 2017.
